Sanibel Health Club on Sanibel Island, FL! We have been proudly offering the best in comprehensive health and fitness for over a decade. With the largest weight room on Sanibel, a 2,500-sq. ft. cardio theater, well-equipped shower and locker rooms, and a bar serving delicious protein shakes, we can be sure to satisfy all your fitness and health needs. In addition to our cardio and weight room, we have recently added a yoga and Pilates studio to serve our clients better. We serve residents of Sanibel and Captiva, our friends who work on the island, and our out-of-state and international guests who are looking for a place to work out while they are on vacation.

Tony DiCosta brings over 40 years of training experience to Sanibel Health Club. In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer, Tony is a well-known fitness writer, appearing regularly in Iron Man magazine and is the author of numerous fitness columns. In addition, he has competed successfully as a Master's bodybuilder on State, National and International levels, with first-place finishes at the Florida State Championships, Southern States Championships and the North American Championships. Tony has also been featured in pictorials in Muscular Development magazine, Planet Muscle, Natural Physique, AARP magazine and many more. Pictured at left, at age 62, Tony is particularly well known for his work with trainees over the age of 50 and has the experience to assure that his trainees will look and feel "Amazing at Any Age."

Hi my name is Darlene Daniels - Extremely passionate and devoted teacher!  Full-time Health & Life Coach, Yoga Medicine and Pilates teacher for 30 years. Formally competitive body builder, fitness professional, Owned and directed successful fitness studio's.

Began my career in Costa Mesa, California as an Activities Director in Newport Villa Retirement Home for Artists, Actors, Celebrities and Musicians the time period when "Singing in the Rain" was cool. While studying my way in Neurology, I dove deeper into Physiology, Anatomy, Psychology, Functional Nutrition, Lifestyle, Self Healing, Naturopathic Remedies, Healing the Gut, Meditation, Life Breath and so much more.   

Knowing I was on to something! I fell in LOVE with it all fitness, wellness & lifestyle.

I then decided my passion and devotion would become a Health & Lifestyle Coach in fitness, wellness and health. Not knowing that I would soon discover that had an auto immune that put me in bed for 2 + years. Incredible, long recovery! What a blessing in disguise. It was a long journey back to health at least 10 years. I am super healthy today and helping over 1000’s of people along their path to health, wellness and lifestyle goals.

I presently travel as a professional Health & Life Coach, Pilates, Yoga Teacher, and Speaker. I live part-time in Florida and Michigan. Living the Dream "Changing peoples life's"!

I can proudly say that I am a yoga and Pilates teacher, and personal trainer. I have been in love with movement all my life without even knowing it! Over twenty years ago I decided to join the track team and dance team in high school, which then gave me the opportunity join track in college, until I was injured, not from competing but from training. It was a grueling 6 days a week for 4 hours a day of intense training so after rolling my ankle and just being exhausted without seeing any progress I quit and decided to focus on school. Looking for ways to stay in shape other than the disciplines I already new through track and boogie boarding which I loved I found a Pilates video at the store and even though I got made fun of by family and friends I was hooked.( I was in Puerto Rico at this time and no one new what Pilates was). Shortly after that I was introduced to yoga falling in love again. So for the last 15 plus years I’ve been obsessed with finding different disciplines that will not only make me stronger but could also help me feel more connected to my body and to feel good inside and out after every workout. All of this made me realize that my purpose in life is to share this passion for movement and my perspective towards fitness with others. So please try out any of my classes or let me know if you want to train with me.

Alyssa (RYT 200) is a passionate yoga teacher who loves to share this beautiful practice in a way that is approachable to all skill levels. “If you can breathe you can do yoga,” a quote from one of her many mentors, Tara Stiles, whom she had the pleasure of meeting back in 2016. Alyssa’s classes are Strala inspired which connects people to themselves, creating a healthier and happier life on and off the mat. 

Yoga is a lifestyle, not just a work out. What you practice on your mat is what we strive to be off the mat. Calm, relaxed, present and so on. Emphasis on “practice,” yoga is not a destination but a journey and guiding students on their journey is an incredible gift. 

Alyssa has over 9 years experience teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Pilates, Mommy & Me, and Kids yoga classes. She is a new mom to a beautiful daughter, Isla, where she has her own experience with prenatal and postnatal yoga and recovery. She is a certified Aerial yoga teacher as well as a certified Holistic Health coach and Reiki Master.

During private Pilates sessions, you get undivided attention from our highly qualified instructors with exercises that are programmed for your specific interests and needs. Its unique methods stimulate the mind and body together. Pilates employs flowing, controlled movements, intentional breathing, and the use of multiple muscle groups at simultaneously.

Just like our personal training, every program is custom-made taking into account your level of conditioning, age, state of health, your goals and much more. People of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels are welcome. Our instructors have the experience to see that this happens in the most efficient and safe manner. Reasonably priced short term passes are available in addition to our extended and long term memberships.

Anyone who signs up for a month or longer will be able to take advantage of Personal Training and Pilates Reformer sessions for a discounted rate.
